I think that popular bloggers thrive on the attention. They get into a cycle of having to be the best, look the best, and be the most creative. In the end, i believe that the top bloggers end up competing with themselves, trying to prove who is the coolest to each other. Sadly, i feel like these top bloggers forget about what made them authentic and they forget about why their followers started reading them in the first place.
I read this on Cup of Jo yesterday and i thought it was really good. It is from her Monday Feb 20, 2012 post titled -Motherhood Mondays: The Hardest Two Months Of My Life….
“My self esteem plummeted, and I felt completely overwhelmed. I would read other blogs–Oh Happy Day, Swissmiss–and think, how are these women doing so much? How can they handle everything–job, family, life–and get it all done and seem so happy? What is wrong with me? I wondered.
Through my sad eyes, I read blogs and saw strangers on the street and just assumed everyone had a perfect life. When I told that to Alex, he swore to me that everyone, without exception, had their own true story, their own struggles, their own flaws, worries, concerns; everyone is human. And then he said, “Look at your own blog, after all. People would have no idea that you’re going through this. You come off like you’re handling everything effortlessly.” That was true, I realized. (I mean, look at this post, for example; I was feeling terrible and insecure that day. It’s the type of event I would have normally loved, but instead I felt self-conscious and lame.)”
I appreciate that Jo was honest (and i consider her a top blogger). I wish more bloggers would be honest when blogging. I think it would make them stop looking like foolish wantabes.
BTW, in my opinion there is nothing worse than when a “life style” blogger tries her hand at “fashion” blogging. There is currently a “top” blogger doing this on her blog and her babble blogs and i think it is a joke. Maybe it is to help get votes because she was nominated on the Top 25 Fashion & Beauty Moms for 2012 on Circle of Moms. Best of luck to her.
Cashmere is all about feeling. The shimmering, silky and beautiful Cashmere is elegant to wear. Cashmere is very light weight and soft to touch. It looks gorgeous and it evokes a sense of luxury. Cashmere garments and accessories caress and keep you warm and comfortable. The journey of cashmere has come across centuries and miles. They are the ideal blend of time-honored hand craft and gift of nature.
No matter whether it is a cardigan or a scarf you are going to love it and treasure it for life time. Cashmere garments and accessories are very expensive and it is difficult for ordinary people to buy them frequently. The wool is obtained from cashmere goats and they are the most sought after wool in this world. Cashmere lasts long but it can last a life time if you take good care of the accessory or garment. Otherwise it will lose its elegance and appeal.
Regular care is a must for Cashmere clothing.
All Cashmere garments and accessories come with instructions. When you buy them check the label for instructions. Stick to the guideline and your Cashmere garment will remain as new. You don’t need to follow the instruction word by word. But try to follow them as closely as possible.
One of the most common guideline will be to dry clean the clothing. But it is not absolutely necessary. Those who wish to take the item to dry cleaners make sure to choose a professional who uses liquid CO2 instead of perc.
If you don’t want to go for dry cleaning you can wash your Cashmere scarves or sweaters just the way you clean your other woolen clothing. But you should remember not to apply harsh chemical which may spoil the wool.
When you clean your cashmere garments or accessories don’t use harsh detergents.
Another point to remember is that you should not apply heat on cashmere clothing. When heat is applied the fibers lose their shape. The fibers are going to shrink if you use harsh detergent or heat.
